Where will you work

Through U-People, you will join a highly specialized engineering company active in the Dutch naval and maritime industry. You will become part of an experienced engineering team delivering complex electrical integration projects for state-of-the-art naval vessels.

Vacancy information

As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical system architecture and integration of complex electrical systems and installations on board naval vessels. You will act as the technical point of contact for both the project team and the customer throughout the entire project lifecycle—from engineering to commissioning.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining the basic design and ensuring the electrical integration of onboard systems.
  • Preparing or coordinating detailed engineering activities.
  • Developing technical specifications and selecting appropriate electrical components and materials.
  • Analysing complex technical challenges and developing system solutions.
  • Reviewing and evaluating technical documentation.
  • Coordinating with clients, end users and classification societies to ensure compliance with project and certification requirements.
  • Advising on system design, implementation and commissioning activities.
  • Participating in FAT, HAT and SAT for complex electrical systems.

What do you need

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent working/thinking level) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience with electrical engineering and system integration.
  • Experience with electrical installations such as power generation, distribution, lighting and integrated ship systems, preferably within the maritime industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical and control system components and materials.
  • Experience with EPLAN is considered an advantage.
  • Experience leading or technically guiding a small engineering team.
  • Familiarity with classification society requirements is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English and/or Dutch.
